Norway’s Steffen Tangstad has been stripped of his European heavyweight champion title.

Tangstad lost an International Boxing Federation title fight against Michael Spinks on Sept. 7 and was suspended for 60 days. He therefore had to drop out of a scheduled bout against Andre van den Oetlaar of the Netherlands on Oct. 17 and failed to defend his European title within the required six-month period after clinching it.
