Etna Erupts; No Peril Seen

CATANIA, Sicily —
Mt. Etna, shaken by earth tremors, erupted early Thursday, lighting up the sky and sending two streams of molten lava down its sides, officials said. The eruption posed no immediate danger to villages on the slopes.
