Loara 42, Katella 0--Brian Fisher scored four touchdowns in only 4 carries and the Saxon defense limited the Knights to 46 net yards in the second half as Loara recorded its fifth shutout before 1,250 in Anaheim’s Glover Stadium.
First-place Loara (4-0-1, 7-0-1) broke open a close 7-0 game with a 6-play, 63-yard drive to open the second half. Quarterback Scott Wood connected with Brian Roberts on a 35-yard scoring pass that brought the ball to the Katella one. Fisher then carried the ball in for his first touchdown and a 14-0 Saxon lead.
The Saxon defense then forced Katella (1-4, 3-5) to punt. After a 12-yard completion from Wood to Roberts, Fisher scored again from the three. He also scored on runs of four and five yards.
Wood completed 10 of 15 pass attempts for 202 yards. Roberts caught 7 passes for 156 yards.
The Knights fumbled midway through the second quarter and the Saxons recovered on the Knight 30. Wood ran 30 yards for the only score of the first half.
Katella quarterback Jeff Yourstone completed 9 of 21 for 94 yards and rushed for 34 yards in 13 carries.
