FEAR OF COLORIZING

Ted Turner is 100% correct when he challenges, “Why all the furore over colorization and nothing about the butcher job of editing old films for TV?”

Why hasn’t the motion-picture industry ever reared up on its hind legs about the fact that every two-bit so-called editor at every channel in town--and every other town--can chop up a film as he/she deems fit?

In the same vein, how come there’s no objection to the fact that “modern era” films are often lengthened/shortened, relengthened/reshortened, for individual showings on TV?

Certainly these crimes are far greater than colorization. Or is the script still at the bottom of the priority list?
