The Region : Fire Captain Admits Molesting 2 Girls

A Redondo Beach fire captain who founded the local chapter of Firefighters for Christ pleaded guilty to molesting two teen-age girls. Superior Court Judge Cecil Mills ordered Clinton (Doc) York, 48, to undergo psychological evaluation before returning Dec. 1 to have a sentencing date set. The victims, who are now 15 and 17, testified at a June preliminary hearing that York began by giving them a massage, then fondled their breasts and genitals. York, who was about a year away from retirement when he was arrested April 7 at his Torrance home, helped found the local chapter of Firefighters for Christ, a Santa Ana-based fellowship with 30 chapters. He faces up to 16 years imprisonment.
