The Dallas Cowboys signed quarterback Paul McDonald, formerly of USC and the Cleveland Browns, to a multiyear contract. Starter Danny White suffered a broken wrist in Sunday’s 17-14 loss to the New York Giants and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
McDonald, 28, was released by the Browns in June and later cut by the Seattle Seahawks. Dallas Coach Tom Landry said that Steve Pelluer would remain the starter in White’s absence and that Reggie Collier would be the primary backup.
