Reagan to Brief U.S. Envoys on Drug Fight
President Reagan will confer with 21 American diplomats, many of them stationed in drug-producing countries, during a conference on narcotics next week at the White House, it was announced Thursday.
The meeting, scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, “will provide the President with an opportunity to update the ambassadors about our domestic efforts to combat narcotics and will give the ambassadors an opportunity to tell the President about progress and problems in international narcotics control,” said Albert R. Brashear, a deputy press secretary.
The conference had been scheduled earlier but was postponed because of planning for the U.S.-Soviet summit in Iceland.
