Soifua Leads Los Amigos Past Santiago, 35-6

Senior running back Lito Soifua supplied 276 yards of offense and 3 touchdowns as Los Amigos High School routed Santiago, 35-6, in a Garden Grove league game Friday at Jason Field in Garden Grove.
Soifua rushed for 165 yards and scored twice in 21 carries and also caught 3 passes for 111 yards and another score for the Lobos (2-2, 5-4).
Los Amigos picked up 473 yards in total offense with junior quarterback Andy Baturevich completing 7 of 11 passes for 144 yards. Mike Eicherly, who scored the Lobos’ opening touchdown, rushed for 78 yards in 7 carries.
An 85-yard scoring play from Baturevich to Soifua gave the Lobos a 21-0 halftime lead.
For the Cavaliers (0-4, 1-8) wide receiver Jim McGarrh caught 6 passes for 76 yards. Santiago quarterback Mark Maldanado connected on 13 of 20 passes for 108 yards, and Hao Dinh rushed for 90 in 7 carries.
The Cavaliers’ only touchdown was scored by junior Jesse Gibson on a 86-yard kickoff return in the third quarter. That came after the Lobos’ fourth touchdown.
