Bay Area Man Wins Calif. Lotto Jackpot of $10.7 Million
A Bay Area computer firm employee in his 20s today became the first grand prize winner of the California Lotto’s $10.7-million jackpot for correctly picking six numbers randomly drawn on Saturday night, lottery officials said today.
Stephen J. Conway of Rohnert Park notified lottery officials this morning that he was the one who correctly chose all six numbers in the lottery’s new computerized Lotto game, lottery spokesman Bob Taylor said.
For the first time in the four-week history of the game in the Golden State, one bettor selected all the numbers in the 6-of-6 category, according to data from the state’s computer, Taylor said.
The $10,705,203 jackpot will be paid out in equal installments over 20 years.
The winning numbers were 45, 7, 5, 32, 21 and 12. The bonus number selected was 13.
