A three-day continuance was granted in the federal drug case in San Diego against Padre pitcher LaMarr Hoyt, allowing attorneys for the government and Hoyt to continue working toward a settlement.
Asst. U.S. Atty. Pat Swan said he has met twice with Hoyt’s attorney, Howard Frank, and would meet again to try to resolve the case, which currently is a single count criminal complaint alleging Hoyt illegally smuggled three kinds of illegal pills into the United States from Mexico.
