--Cost: For the social portion of the program the charges range from $20 for patients attending less than four hours to $30 for patients attending more than four hours; additional fees are charged for most physical therapy and rehabilitation and is based on a participant’s degree of impairment.

4. V.I.P. (Very Independent Person) Adult Day Health Care Center (Sponsored jointly by Feedback Foundation and St. Joseph Hospital).

A scattering of residents from Fullerton and Anaheim are enrolled in the program, but they must have family members provide transportation or obtain a special waiver from the state so that transportation may be provided by Consolidated Transportation.

--Cost: $35 per day or a reduced monthly fee of $675 ($31.76 per day). For patients needing special supervision, the charge is $40 per day.

2. Harbor Area Adult Day Care Center (Sponsored by South Coast Institute for Applied Gerontology).

--Cost: $6 per day, with some openings available for those unable to pay the full amount.

5. Orange Adult Day Care Center (Sponsored by Orange Elderly Services).

--Attendance capacity and geographic service area: Average daily attendance of 20 people from throughout the county. Participants are generally limited to two visits per week because of a limited staff of social, speech, occupational, physical and recreational therapists. Specializes in maintenance level rehabilitation and socialization for physically handicapped, with most having suffered strokes. Also serves those with such physical disabilities as arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic head injuries and cerebral palsy.

--Age eligibility: Generally 60 or older.

--Cost: No set fees, although donations are accepted on basis of ability to pay.

8. Saddleback Valley Day Care.

--Attendance capacity and geographic service area: Licensed for 30 people who live in Placentia, Yorba Linda, Brea, La Habra, Buena Park and Fullerton. Transportation is provided by Consolidated Transportation Service Agency.

--Age eligibility: 55 and older.

--Cost: Those attending for less than six hours are charged $8.25 daily, while those attending from six to 12 hours are charged $14 per day. Also available is a sliding fee plan based on ability to pay.

10. Anaheim Senior Day Care (operated by City of Anaheim).
