3. St. Jude Adult Day Rehabilitation Center (Sponsored by St. Jude Hospital and Rehabilitation Center in Fullerton).

--Attendance capacity: Can accommodate 25 persons daily.

--Age eligibility: 18 and older.

--Cost: For the social portion of the program the charges range from $20 for patients attending less than four hours to $30 for patients attending more than four hours; additional fees are charged for most physical therapy and rehabilitation and is based on a participant’s degree of impairment.

4. V.I.P. (Very Independent Person) Adult Day Health Care Center (Sponsored jointly by Feedback Foundation and St. Joseph Hospital).

A scattering of residents from Fullerton and Anaheim are enrolled in the program, but they must have family members provide transportation or obtain a special waiver from the state so that transportation may be provided by Consolidated Transportation.

--Age eligibility: Participants range in age from 60 to 94, with a median age of 80.

--Cost: $35 per day or a reduced monthly fee of $675 ($31.76 per day). For patients needing special supervision, the charge is $40 per day.

2. Harbor Area Adult Day Care Center (Sponsored by South Coast Institute for Applied Gerontology).

--Age eligibility: Participants range in age from 47 to 94. It specializes in treating people with neurological disabilities such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease, stroke impairments, developmental disabilities or mental illness.

--Cost: $23 per day, with a sliding fee based on ability to pay available.

3. Huntington Valley Adult Day Care Center (Sponsored by South Coast Institute for Applied Gerontology).

4. Buena Park Senior Day Care Center (Sponsored by the Feedback Foundation and the Buena Park Recreation Department.)

--Cost: $6 per day, with some openings available for those unable to pay the full amount.

5. Orange Adult Day Care Center (Sponsored by Orange Elderly Services).

7. Rehabilitation Institute of Orange County.

--Attendance capacity and geographic service area: Average daily attendance of 20 people from throughout the county. Participants are generally limited to two visits per week because of a limited staff of social, speech, occupational, physical and recreational therapists. Specializes in maintenance level rehabilitation and socialization for physically handicapped, with most having suffered strokes. Also serves those with such physical disabilities as arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, traumatic head injuries and cerebral palsy.

--Age eligibility: Generally 60 or older.

--Cost: No set fees, although donations are accepted on basis of ability to pay.

8. Saddleback Valley Day Care.

--Age eligibility: 55 and older.

--Cost: Those attending for less than six hours are charged $8.25 daily, while those attending from six to 12 hours are charged $14 per day. Also available is a sliding fee plan based on ability to pay.
