Acommittee of the California State University Board of Trustees on Tuesday approved several proposals to ease crowding and expand the library at the Northridge campus.
If the full board gives final approval today as expected, CSUN will get 20 modular classrooms and space for 30 offices, as well as permission to lease a former Home Savings of America building for classroom space.
On the first day of the CSU board’s two-day meeting in Long Beach, the Committee on Campus Buildings and Grounds also approved plans for a $16-million addition to the CSUN library.
The addition, to be financed by bond issues authorized by Proposition 56 on last week’s state ballot, will be equipped with a system that retrieves books by remote control.
