Actor Allen Grammer, co-star of the television series “Cheers,” received a 10-day suspended sentence for contempt of court in a spousal support dispute with his wife of three years. Grammer was ordered to pay his wife a minimum of $31,000 in back support payments and provide her with regular reports of his income, which her attorney estimated at $12,500 per episode. Grammer, who plays the role of the psychiatrist on the hit NBC series, was placed on a year’s probation to ensure compliance with Superior Court Judge Barbara Jean Johnson’s order.
