Uprooting Exposition Park’s Rose Garden
I read with sorrow the article about uprooting the rose garden at Exposition Park to make room for a parking structure.
Surely a need exists for additional parking in the area, but isn’t there an equal, if not measurable, need for beauty and tranquility? Let people allow an extra few minutes for traffic and the walk to the museums--the exercise will be good for them. And when they’re tired, they can go and sit in the rose garden and enjoy its loveliness without exhaust fumes and vibrations from the underground garage.
