The Coast Guard, operating from a Navy frigate, sank a Colombian fishing boat carrying 10 tons of marijuana when it ignored orders to stop, officials said. One crew member aboard the fishing vessel was injured in the incident, which occurred in international waters, about 40 miles north of Colombia. Six others were seized by the Coast Guard pending arraignment. Officials said that they found the marijuana on the ship and took a number of bales for use as evidence before the vessel sank.
