The body of a 37-year-old man was found on the floor of his ransacked apartment on Yucca Avenue in Hollywood. Los Angeles police said Edwardo Ruiz Lopez apparently was beaten and stabbed to death. An autopsy was scheduled. Lopez’s body was discovered by a friend and the apartment manager, said Lt. Edward T. Hocking. The case has been ruled a homicide, he said. Police said Lopez was a waiter at Musso & Franks restaurant.
