Political extremist Lyndon H. LaRouche Jr. and a New Jersey bank formally agreed to drop lawsuits against each other in a settlement that clears the way for a sworn deposition by LaRouche to go to a federal grand jury, an attorney for the bank said. A videotape and transcript of LaRouche’s answers to questions about allegations of fraud by his followers have been subpoenaed by a federal grand jury in Boston that is investigating the LaRouche organization. The deposition was taken in connection with the series of civil suits by First Fidelity Bank and LaRouche’s 1984 presidential campaign.
