Although Colorado Sen. Gary Hart remains the popular favorite for the 1988 Democratic presidential nomination, the wide gap that separated Hart and runners-up New York Gov. Mario M. Cuomo and Chrysler Corp. Chairman Lee A. Iacocca earlier this year has narrowed sharply, according to a Gallup Poll. Cuomo and Iacocca are statistically tied as runners-up, receiving 27% and 26% of the votes, respectively.
