Radioactive Water Leaks at Three Mile Island Plant

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. —
About 800 gallons of radioactive water leaked earlier this month from a valve at Three Mile Island’s Unit 1 reactor into a storage tank while the nuclear plant was shut down for maintenance, the plant operator announced Thursday. A spokeswoman for GPU Nuclear Corp. said there was no release of radioactivity off the plant site.
