Whining Excuses From a Crybaby Quarterback

Share

Try as I might, I fail to see any good reason for The Times wasting paper and ink on the whining excuses of UCLA’s crybaby quarterback, Matt Stevens. In the few games I have seen, Stevens’ ineptitude has been readily apparent.

So now, as the rest of the team pouts about Arizona State winning a big game and preventing the Bruins’ backing into the Rose Bowl once again, Stevens points to his big games, against such perennial powerhouses as San Diego State, Cal State Long Beach and Oregon State.

It will be a pleasure to see Los Angeles’ most exciting quarterback, USC’s Rodney Peete, run Matt Stevens right off the field Saturday. During the recent “down years” of USC football, no player or coach ever publicly embarrassed his university with the type of outbursts we’ve seen from Matt Stevens.
