East Coast Does Another Number on the West

The recent decision by CBS New York to deny us the USC-UCLA game prompts me to recall some of the other brilliant moves by our friends in Madison Avenue board rooms. Who will forget the critical Laker-Houston playoff game that wasn’t shown in L.A. even though it was played in Houston ? What about the time last spring when the Knicks came out here and we were forced to make a last-minute change in the starting time resulting in many Laker fans arriving toward the end of the game just to accommodate the New Yorkers so they wouldn’t have to stay up late?

We bend over backward for them and what do we get? A Raider-Charger scheduling fiasco that benefits no one except the television executives and the East Coast television audience.
