Q: Could you briefly describe the All-America Rose Selections for 1986? I would like to try at least one of them when bare-root roses are stocked at my corner nursery. --T.T., Beaumont

A: All three 1986 All-America winners are classified as Hybrid Tea roses, which are upright in growth habit. ‘Broadway’ has bi-colored flowers, about 4 to 4 1/2 inches across, that are light reddish-pink heavily suffused with yellow. ‘Touch of Class’ has warm-pink flowers that are shaded with coral and cream; they are about the same size as ‘Broadway.’ ‘Voodoo’ has larger flowers that are a blend of yellow, peach and orange blushing to scarlet, with a strong, sweet fragrance.
