A 9-year-old boy was in stable condition at California Medical Center after treatment for a bullet wound suffered in a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles. Police said the child, whose name was not disclosed, was struck in the left groin by a bullet fired from a car that cruised past his home in the 4900 block of South Normandie Avenue. A hospital spokesman said the bullet had passed entirely through the child’s body.
