County Treasurer Will Go After Hankla’s Job

Treasurer-Tax Collector Richard B. Dixon, a 28-year veteran of county service, emerged Tuesday as the leading candidate to succeed outgoing Chief Administrative Officer James C. Hankla.
Dixon, 49, alerted members of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors that he is eager to take over for Hankla, who is scheduled to leave March 1 to become Long Beach’s city manager. The board, after meeting in closed session Tuesday, decided to put off a final decision for at least a week.
