Scientists today announced the discovery of a previously unknown flesh-eating species of dinosaur that had giant claws and 128 teeth like “steak knives” and weighed up to two tons. The creature--dubbed “Claws” by reporters--roamed the Earth 124 million years ago.

“This is not only the most exciting dinosaur find in Britain this century, it is the most exciting find in Europe this century,” said British Museum paleontologist Alan J. Charig. He said the creature--whose claw bone was found in a clay pit outside London three years ago--had twice as many teeth as members of the other four families of flesh-eating dinosaurs, including the fearsome Tyrannosaurus rex .
