A volunteer football coach at Mount Miguel High School in Spring Valley has been released on $7,000 bail after being arrested on narcotics charges, a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said.

Howard Jackson, 39, of Spring Valley, was arrested at the school Thursday and booked into County Jail on suspicion of selling, possessing and possessing with intent to sell narcotics, the spokesman said. His bail was posted about 10 a.m. Friday, jail officials said.

The arrest came after a three-month investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration. DEA supervisor John DiGravio said undercover agents did not see Jackson make any sales on campus or to students, according to the Associated Press.

Shiroma and LaDonna also were released Friday, but Suarez remains in County Jail, officials said Saturday.

Mount Miguel Principal Pat Carroll said Jackson was an unpaid volunteer coach in the football and track programs, the Associated Press said. Jackson listed his occupation as a chauffeur.
