A 33-year-old Fallbrook woman was killed Saturday night when she lost control of her car on California 76, swerved into the opposite lane and was hit broadside by an oncoming pickup truck.

Debra Haynie died at the scene of the accident north of North River Road at 9:59 p.m. Saturday, a spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol said.

Haynie was northbound on Route 76 at about 60 m.p.h. when she failed to slow for a curve and spun across the southbound lane, the spokeswoman said.

There was no information available on injuries to the driver of the pickup, 27-year-old Michael Comnodari of Valley Center.
