ORMOND BEACH, Fla. —
A 40-year-old surfer whose right arm was chewed by a shark said Friday he should be out of the hospital soon and will be climbing on his board again when he recovers.
Robert Earnhardt was in satisfactory condition at Memorial Hospital of Ormond Beach after surgery to repair the bite wounds.
Earnhardt, an Ormond Beach construction worker, was paddling against waves in chest-deep water when a spinner or black-tip shark about six feet long grabbed his forearm Thursday.
