Pedestrian Hit: A Newport Beach man was seriously injured Saturday night when he apparently ran into the path of a moving car in front of the Santa Ana Country Club, authorities said Sunday. Four witnesses told police that they saw Richard Robert Evans, 38, bolt in front of a car that was traveling north on Newport Boulevard late Saturday night. He is listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said. The driver of the car, Nora Marie Carsey, 63, of Costa Mesa was not cited or held. Police said they had no idea why Evans ran in front of Carsey’s car. An investigation was continuing.
