A Logan Heights man who shot and killed a 10-year-old girl while target shooting pleaded guilty Thursday in Superior Court to involuntary manslaughter.
Jose Maldonado-Ruiz, 45, could receive four years in prison when he is sentenced Jan. 27.
Maldonado admitted he fired the Sept. 27 shot in his backyard that struck Sonia Cano in the chest while she was walking in an alley between 24th and 25th Streets near K Street while on her way to a market to buy eggs for her mother.
Maldonado remains free on $50,000 bond.
