Australian Pat Cash punched a TV cameraman after teammate John Fitzgerald humiliated him in a tuneup for this week’s Davis Cup final against Sweden in Melbourne.
Cash smashed two racquets and stormed off the court after Fitzgerald had him down, 2-6, in a practice match. Later, he was walking with his Norwegian girlfriend, Anne Brit Krostensen, and their 5-month-old son, Daniel, when an Australian camera crew moved in to take shots of the family.
Cash walked over to the group and hit a cameraman, Mike Patterson, over the right eye. He then tried to pull a camera from the shoulder of another photographer.
