Los Angeles police were seeking the driver of a car that they say struck and killed a motorcyclist in Sepulveda early Thursday, then sped away.
John West, 26, of Palmdale was riding north in the 9200 block of Sepulveda Boulevard at 1:40 a.m. when a beige station wagon struck him from behind, Officer Robert Rowe said.
West was knocked from the motorcycle and dragged 50 feet by the car, which hit a parked car and then sped away, Officer Norman Kellems said. Paramedics pronounced West dead at the scene, Kellems said.
