Federal agents seized $20-million worth of cocaine hidden in the false top of a pickup truck’s camper shell after two men allegedly ran the truck through the Douglas, Ariz., border crossing, officials said in a Tucson news conference. The cocaine seized Friday weighed 443.5 pounds. Some of the 187 containers of cocaine were wrapped like Christmas presents, and some were wrapped like round packets of Mexican cheese, officials said. Border Patrol agents seized the truck and arrested a Douglas resident and a Mexican citizen. Authorities called the bust the largest seizure of cocaine by officials working at a border crossing.
