$2.67 Million Turkish Lottery Is a No Sale

ANKARA, Turkey —
Top prize in a New Year’s Day drawing of the Turkish state lottery was a record two billion lira ($2.67 million), but nobody had the winning number, 989936.
“We understand that unfortunately the ticket was not sold. As an organization, we are extremely sorry,” lottery chief Cevat Kani Uner told the Anatolian news agency Thursday.
