An unidentified man was found beaten to death early Monday, and Los Angeles police said they arrested two men suspected of killing him in an argument over squatting rights in an abandoned Van Nuys house.
The man, who police believe was about 50 years old, was found beaten after 2 a.m. on the sidewalk outside the house on the 14700 block of Victory Boulevard, Detective Mel Arnold said.
Manuel Antonio Rodriguez, 23, and Antonio Gonzalez, 23, both Mexican nationals, are suspected of fatally bludgeoning the man with a fence post, Arnold said. The attack occurred during an argument about sleeping arrangements in the house, which the two shared with the victim and several other squatters, Arnold said.
Gonzalez and Rodriguez are being held without bail in Van Nuys Jail, Arnold said.
