A section of the county’s Museum of Natural History was closed for safety reasons after fire officials determined there were no sprinklers in an exhibit area, officials said. The Landau Hall portion of the museum in the basement of the Exposition Park complex houses an extensive exhibit of Southern California history, including the early Indians, the missions and displays of early Hollywood. Los Angeles Fire Battalion Chief Raymond A. Olsen said Los Angeles County Supervisors asked fire officials to look at all county buildings for fire code violations in the wake of last year’s disastrous fire at the Los Angeles Central Library.
