As Far as Lakers Go, It Was the Final Blow
Some of us wanted to read about the Laker-Phoenix basketball game on Jan. 3. Instead, what we got from Gordon Edes was a blow-by-blow account of a pushing and shoving match by a few second-stringers.
The Lakers tied a first-half record for points scored and are playing the best basketball in the NBA and that part of the story is treated as an afterthought. If Edes is so enamored with a fight, perhaps he should cover boxing for The Times, instead of the Lakers.
