The crash of a Spanish air force transport plane in Equatorial Guinea on Jan. 2, in which 22 people were killed, was caused by engine failure, Spanish experts said. An air force spokesman said investigators sent to the former Spanish West African colony found that the plane crashed after the right engine cut out following takeoff from the coastal town of Bata.
