In September my husband and I spent a week in Paris and we stayed at the Hotel du Pas de Calais, which we chose from Jerry Hulse’s list of recommended small hotels of Paris (Nov. 3, 1985). We want you to know how much we enjoyed the Pas de Calais. The location is very convenient, just off Boulevard St. Germain and close to the Metro and sidewalk cafes and good restaurants. Our room at the hotel was a bit on the small side, but was very comfortable. There was lots of closet and desk space, plenty of light (important to us readers), and the bathroom was large and completely tiled, with a heater and more than enough shelf space. The breakfast room-lounge is attractively furnished with glass-topped tables and velvet-covered chairs. We enjoyed the cafe filtre with the nicely served breakfast. The staff was helpful and courteous.

We have a large file of Times travel articles, and make use of them every time we take a trip.
