Cowan Heights : Dump Truck Plows Into Home; No One Injured

A dump truck carrying asphalt roofing material apparently lost its brakes traveling downhill and went off a road and into a house Monday, authorities said.
The truck “narrowly missed a car with a family in it,” Orange County Fire Department spokeswoman Kathleen Cha said.
No one was injured in the 11:18 a.m. accident, which caused an estimated $3,000 in damage to the exterior of a home in the 1500 block of Foothill Boulevard, Cha said. The owner of the house was away, she added.
