A single-engine plane flipped over in a gust of wind, crashed and then burst into flames at Sacramento’s Executive Airport, killing all four occupants. “All we know is that the plane was taking off; it flipped over and a wing hit the ground,” said Emanuel Bromberg, airport fire rescue chief. “The wind had everything to do with it, that and pilot error. . . ,” said another fire official. Airport spokesmen said winds were gusting up to 25 m.p.h. at the small field, about five miles south of the state Capitol. Police Capt. Sam Somers also blamed the crash on the wind, saying, “Those winds were blowing like hell out there. . . .” He said the plane was owned by a Visalia construction company, but he would not release the name of the firm. Names of the victims were withheld.
