Mother Drives Off--With Son on Top of Car

GULFPORT, Miss. —
A woman who forgot she had placed her 2-month-old son atop her car drove off with the infant still on the roof, and the boy fell off and suffered a broken collarbone, police said today.
Robert Tucker was hospitalized in stable condition. A woman found the infant, strapped in a car seat, on the pavement Tuesday afternoon. Dorothea Tucker told police she hadn’t missed the baby until she had driven several blocks.
