Matt Hazeltine, former All-Pro linebacker and one of three former San Francisco 49ers stricken with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease, in the last two years, has died.
Hazeltine, 53, of Los Altos, died at Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco Tuesday night after a long struggle against the disease.
He played for the 49ers from 1955 to 1968 and was named to the Pro Bowl in 1963 and 1965.
