“The story of a passionate love affair and an incredible spiritual journey.”
That’s how ABC describes “Out on a Limb,” a five-hour dramatization of Shirley MacLaine’s autobiographical best seller that will be presented in two parts, Sunday from 8 to 11 p.m., and Monday from 9 to 11 p.m. (Channels 7, 3, 10, 42).
Charles Dance, seen with MacLaine on the cover, plays the married man with whom she carries on an international romance as she also searches for spiritual enlightenment. John Heard, Anne Jackson and Jerry Orbach are others involved.
The special, produced by Stan Margulies, was filmed on locations around the world.
