Lotto’s 6 Numbers Add Up to a 4-Way Split for Jackpot

Four players picked six of six winning numbers in the California Lottery Lotto 6/49 game, and each will be paid about $3.8 million as their share of a $15.4-million jackpot. It was the first time in the four-month history of the Lotto that more than one person picked all six numbers.

The winners, two of whom bought their tickets in Southern California and two of whom played in the San Francisco Bay Area, will receive their payoffs in annuities over the next 20 years, according to Lottery spokesman John Schade.

The week’s winning numbers were 13, 20, 28, 35, 36, 21. The bonus number was 31.

One person picked five of the six numbers plus the bonus number for a prize of $1.1 million. In the five-of-six category, 312 winners will receive $1,911 each, and 10,746 winners in the four-of-six category will each receive $50, Schade said.

Total ticket sales for the past week set a record at $10.8 million, Schade said. Because no one had picked the six correct numbers in the previous week’s game, that prize money was rolled into the past week’s pool.

The jackpot winners, who are expected to claim their prizes when Lottery offices re-open, purchased their tickets at liquor stores in Panorama City and Hayward, at the California Club in San Diego and at Naw Lun Wah Co. in San Francisco.
