Maltese Ship Sinks Off Spain; 18 Feared Lost

BARCELONA, Spain —
Rescuers have little hope of finding 18 missing crew members of a Maltese cargo ship that sank off the coast of Spain, a navy spokesman said Sunday. Two crew members were rescued, one by a helicopter, the other by a Soviet ship.
The 3,163-ton Kythera Star sank Saturday in stormy seas 63 miles off Barcelona after a violent shift of its cargo of iron girders. The vessel was bound for Cyprus and Lebanon.
