City Hall to Shelter Homeless
Spurred by last week’s deaths of at least two homeless people due to freezing temperatures, the Los Angeles City Council today voted to open up City Hall for three nights starting tonight as a temporary shelter.
The 10-0 vote came despite a warning from the city attorney that the city could be exposing itself to liability by the action. The decision opens up several rooms in City Hall and City Hall South between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
