San Diego Gas & Electric posted a 5.2% increase in profit due to the sale of the company’s interest in Energy Factors Inc. in January, 1986, a spokesman said, which boosted earnings by 25 cents a share, for the year ended Dec. 31. However, in December, the company recorded an 8-cents-per-share loss due to a Public Utilities Commission decision disallowing part of its construction costs for San Onofre Units 2 and 3, the spokesman added.
