Anti-Nuke Protesters Arrested

More than 100 anti-nuclear activists were arrested today in separate demonstrations at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in Orange County and at the Nevada Test Site.
There were more than 40 arrests for trespassing at El Toro as Pentagon officials and defense experts began arriving for the 28th annual Winter Convention on Aerospace and Electronics Systems, authorities said. Near Beatty, Nev., 72 persons were arrested at a demonstration marking the 36th anniversary of the first nuclear test at the desert location. Actor Martin Sheen was among those arrested.
