West German skier Christa Kinshofer, who won the silver medal in the giant slalom at the 1980 Winter Olympics, was barred from the World Ski Championships when she tried to race as a representative of The Netherlands but did not have a Dutch passport, according to the International Ski Federation.

Kinshofer, 26, who has competed on the World Cup circuit since 1977, had a dispute with her German team coaches several years ago and began to compete for The Netherlands. She married a Dutch citizen last year and is allowed to compete on the World Cup circuit.
